IoT platform

Urban design increasingly uses sensors to collect data. As a City Maker it can give you new insights and improve the management of assets and public space.

The IoT platform brings all those sensors together in one place. From here you can:

  • Add sensors
  • Monitors
  • Save (historical) data
  • Make analyses
  • Merging different sensor data into one new dataset

Sensor register

The number of sensors is growing enormously and this will increase further in the coming years. At the same time, this leads to questions and concerns among citizens and administrators. With the increase in sensors, governments are increasingly receiving questions about what is in public spaces and for what reason. At the same time, unlocking sensor information also offers opportunities. Governments increasingly have access to information from various sensors, which are not known to all departments.

The sensor register provides information about the sensor, not the data itself. For example, it provides information about where which sensors are located, for what purpose and whether they collect personal data.

By making the information about sensors transparent and publicly available, this offers opportunities for City Makers to use this information for broader social tasks.

WeCity offers a simple “as a service” license to immediately have access to your own personalized sensor register.

WeCity's sensor register consists of two parts:

A management module in which City Makers, depending on their role and rights, can add, manage and remove sensors and;

A public map that shows transparently for all residents and users where which sensors are placed.

We offer you support with the operational implementation of both the management of the system and its use and deployment in, for example, your purchasing process.

WeCity would like to collaborate in a transparent manner. The roadmap and further development of the sensors register are determined jointly by users in a Community of Practice.
