Full stack developer

Cities play a key role in all the challenges we face, such as climate change, smart mobility, energy transition and biodiversity. Technology and data help with solutions for sustainable, liveable, safe cities. For residents, businesses, and visitors.

The success of these solutions depends on many factors, including open collaboration with all parties. There are already many solutions available for the smart city. And at WeCity we look for the connection between these solutions. For example, we can use sensors to measure air quality, map traffic movements, and combine them in a digital twin. Or we map the public space to make it more suitable for disabled people. In everything we do, we look for collaboration with companies, governments and research institutes, and social added value is our goal.

Your contribution to creating smart cities?

WeCity builds a reliable, open ecosystem for data, sensors and solutions that is accessible to every supplier. And that unburdens users by providing insight into all aspects associated with the implementation, use and management of those solutions. WeCity makes cities smarter by removing technical, ethical and organizational barriers.

You can contribute to that! As a Fullstack Developer, you help build the WeCity Platform in which we build an integrated service portal for smart city and IoT solutions, a data market for valuable data sources and a self-service catalog that relieves users from orientation to selection. Your contribution to this is crucial.

Requirements

Together with you we will assess your capabilities and how to divide tasks and responsibilities within the team. The developers in WeCity are responsible for designing, developing, and implementing the different software components that WeCity uses for her platform. That implies that you:

... will bring at least two years’ experience as a Software Engineer or Developer/Engineer and have a drive for learning and improving your skills;
... have knowledge about PHP, Databases and API-design/implementation;
are familiar with a common front-end framework like React, Vue or Angular;
.. have the ability to analyze and solve complex problems and present your solution clearly (in word and on paper);
... take the initiative to propose solutions that improve the WeCity platform, for example with regard to security, performance, privacy, ease of use and the technologies and tools used;
... take care of the implementation of new releases, including support for test- and security procedures and delivery/approval of documentation.

You are result oriented, collaborative, analytical, stress-resistant and quality orientated. You are allowed to work in the EU (we don’t sponsor Visa e.g. working permit). You speak and write fluent English and you are willing to learn Dutch.
